Commodores Welcome 2009

In my year as Commodore, I am looking forward to building on the successes of 2008 and hope to carry on the good work that John has achieived over the last two years as Commodore, ably assisted by his wife Janette. I propose to have the Commodores Welcome at the Chalet Bar on 25th April 2009. These socials are a very popular event, enjoyed by all. Please check the calendar for full details of everything we have planned. We also plan to increase the number of BBQ Social events at the chalet bar. These are bring your own drink events so we hope to see as many members, new and existing, as possible.

We would invite any potential new boaters/members whether mooring at the Pike or not to check our events programme and please feel free to come along and meet us at the next opportunity. We can assure a warm welcome to our friendly club. It is not an ‘elitist’ club, we are all normal boaters keen to enjoy the boating and social activities on offer. We also have a close relationship with Riverside Marine & Leisure who offer a 5% discount (except on gas or diesel) to all members.

Our first event for 2009 is the Winter Trip to the Isle of Wight, programmed for the weekend commencing Friday 20th February 2009. the prices for 2 nights are from £99 and 3 nights from £129 per person which includes bed, breakfast, evening meal, entertainment and return ferry. Anyone wishing to come please contact as soon as possible to reserve a place.

We look forward to another good season with many enjoyable events and get togethers.
